I just spent 10 minutes reading two new posts on Penelope Trunk’s blog, The Brazen Careerist and was reminded once again of why I enjoy reading her blog so much even though I’m very definitely not a Millennial – the blog addresses mostly Gen Y career concerns. She is always, unfailingly honest…sometimes painfully so. A recent post on her company running out of cash made me want to run down (or is it up?) to Madison, WI to give her a hug. And the post on how to pick the people you work with made me laugh out loud. If you read her tweets you’ll think her life sounds like a constant series of tragic comedy. Or comedic tragedy. Whatever. As a newbie blogger, I appreciated her Guide to Blogging although I didn’t necessarily agree with everything e.g. (and yes it’s e.g. not i.e.) I think grammar is important. Even if it means I’m a snob. Penelope’s blog can be charming, vulnerable, irritable, helpful, sad or just plain depressed – but always a pleasure to read and always honest. You should read it. Now.
One final thing before you start googling Penelope Trunk. It’s a pseudonym.

Good read – thanks for sharing. I also like the more mainstream blogs on the NYTimes and Time. Tend to be about less obscure topics that most people can relate to…
